![]() ![]() I am unsure of the motor watt but I am guessing they can draw up to 30 amps? I can find up to 20 amps easily on amazon "Step Down Module Adjustable DC 6-40V to 1.2-36V Voltage Regulator 20amp" but I am thinking this will fall short too? Also, I am reading I should install a 30amp inline fuse on the battery positive terminal - sure only a couple of bucks but this combination does not sync because the 20amp voltage regular will burn out sooner than the fuse if the motor asks for more amps. ![]() The cheap $5 ones will will take 3.0-40V as input and can output 1.5-35V using a variable potentiometer that I can set - this is great but the max amp output is 2. ![]() The third option I have found is using a voltage step down converter but I am concerned with amps. The other half of youtube videos just run their 12v motor with 20v battery and hope for the best since they are looking for more speed anyway. If I turn the dial down to 33%, it might work but I feel like it's going to melt something at some point if more power is being drawn. Using a voltmeter, I will always get 20v so I can't really see what I have lowered it to. The challenge is that the input voltage needs to be the same as the output/motor voltage which isn't true in my case. Half the youtube videos talk about using the PWM DC speed controller. This is generic 6v single motor ride-on with no other electronics - the lead-acid battery directly connects to the motor where a push button completes the circuit. I would still like to stay around 6v (or even lower for reduced speed).
